N`ganj road accident leaves 2 dead, 1 injured

Narayanganj, May 19 (UNB) - Two garment workers were killed and another was injured in a road accident at Aukhabur in Rupganj upazila on Saturday.

The dead are: Piyash Chore, 32, worker of Robintex, a ready-made garments (RMG) unit situated in Rupganj and son of Carlos Chore of Mirakathal village of Chapianawabganj district and co-worker Abul Kalam, 28, son of Jaman Mia of Murtazabad village of Rupganj.

The injured is Aminul Islam, 25, also a garments worker.

Police said a sand-laden truck hit a Nosimon (human hauler) leaving the three Nasimon passengers critically injured at 8 am.

Locals rescued and rushed them to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) at 10:30 am, where Piyash and Abul Kalam succumbed to their injuries.
