Lighting strike leaves couple critically injured

Noakhali, May 19 (UNB) - Lightning strike left a couple critically injured at Sombagh village in Kabirhat upazila on Saturday.

The injured couple was identified as Alamghir Hossain, 32, and his wife Jyotsna Begum, 26, of the village.

Witnesses said thunderbolt struck them at their house, leaving Alamgir badly injured in his head and Jyotsna, too, injured severely at 10 am.

They were admitted to 250-bed Noakhali General Hospital in senseless condition. However, both regained consciousness and were out of danger, hospital sources said in the afternoon.
