Minor schoolgirl slaughtered after rape in Bagerhat
Bagerhat, May 20 (UNB) - A minor schoolgirl was slaughtered after rape by criminals at Barabaria village in Chitalmari upazila on Friday.
The deceased was identified as Zakia Sultana, 10, daughter of Abdul Kader Mollah of Natun Ghoshgathi village in Mollahat upazila.
Locals said Zakia, a student of class 1V, came to the village to visit her grand-father’s house on Thursday and she went missing at about 11am on Friday.
On Saturday evening, local people found Zakia’s slaughtered body in the abandoned house of Nazir Sheikh of nearby Maddhyapara area and informed the police.
Later, the law enforcers recovered the body and sent it to Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.
Chitalmari thana OC Hasan Hafizur Rahman said unidentified criminals abducted the girl and later slaughtered her after rape.
A case was filed in this connection.
