One killed in city road crash
Dhaka, May 24 (UNB) - A man was killed as a bus knocked him down in the city’s Malibagh area on Thursday morning.The victim was identified as Jewel, 45.
Police and witnesses said the accident occurred when a Jatrabari-bound bus of Anabil Paribahan from Rampura hit Jewel while he was crossing road in front of Malibagh Super Market at about 10:30am. He died on the spot.
A team of patrol police chased the bus and caught it near Khidmah Hospital at Khilgaon and arrested its driver Javed Ali.
Meanwhile, agitated people torched another bus of the transport company while it was crossing Malibagh intersection minutes after the accident.
