MOGADISHU, MAY 24 (AP/UNB) - A radio station producer says that gunmen in Somalia have killed a Somali journalist, the sixth to be slain in the country this year.

The death highlights the dangers media workers face in Somalia from militants, criminals and at times the government.

Ahmed Addow Anshur, a producer with Shabelle radio, was shot dead Wednesday in Mogadishu while going home. Muawiye Ahmed Mudey, a producer at the station, said Thursday that two men shot Anshur in the head. He called the death "an appalling murder."
