Indian arrested with gold, silver ornaments at Benapole

News - Indian arrested with gold, silver ornaments at Benapole
Benapole, May 26 (UNB) – Customs officials arrested an Indian notional along with gold and silver ornaments and some white stones worth Tk 20.84 lakh from International Customs check post here on Friday night.  

The arrestee was identified as Kamalesh Kumar Barman, 33, of 18 Rabindrapalli Krishnapur of Rajarhat in Kolkata. His passport no. is 6743483.

Sources at Benapole Check Post said Kamalesh was arrested along with his passport while moving suspiciously in the area at night.

Later, customs official Abdul Majid recovered 46.12 tolas of gold, 2 tolas of silver ornaments and 1.5 kg white stones from his bag.

Kamalesh was handed over to Benapole port thana along with his passport.
