Opposition creating anarchy to protect war criminals: Minister

Lalmonirhat, May 26 (UNB) - Commerce Minister GM Quader on Saturday alleged that the opposition is creating anarchy through resorting to bombing in the name of hartal to protect the war criminals.

The Jatiya Party (JP) leader also said the opposition has been continuing its efforts to impede the development activities of the government.

The Commerce Minister came up with the observation at a function at Sadar upazila parishad auditorium where cash and corrugated iron sheets were distributed among the poor.

He said Jatiya Party does not support any destructive politics rather it wants peace and development in the country.

Deputy Commissioner M Mokhlesur Rahman Sarkar, District Council administrator Advocate Motiar Rahman, Sadar upazila chairman Nazrul Haque Patwari, local Awami League and JP leaders also spoke on the occasion with Lalmonirhat acting UNO (upazila nirbahi officer) Shariful Alam in the chair.

Earlier, GM Quader attended the fifth meeting of the hospital management committee at the Civil Surgeon office.

At the meeting, he said the present government has taken initiatives to reach the modern health care facilities to the people’s doorstep.

The Commerce Minister further said the government has taken a plan to give priority to the health sector in the next national budget.
