Worker dies in septic tank

Narsingdi, May 26 (UNB) - A worker died in a septic tank due to poisonous gas at Babur Haat at Sheikher Char in Sadar upazila on Saturday afternoon.

Witnesses said Din Islam, 26, of Kishoreganj district and a septic tank sanitary worker, went into the septic tank of an under-construction building of `Pakija Group` to remove its center pipe and fittings at 1:15 pm and did not emerge from it.

Sensing danger, co-workers informed the caretaker of the building about the matter who called police.

Police along with firefighters rushed to the spot and rescued his body and sent it to Narsingdi Sadar Hospital for autopsy.
