
Dhaka, May 28 (UNB) - Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina leaves here for Doha on Tuesday morning on a two-day official visit to Qatar to attend the Annual US-Islamic World Forum.
The Forum will be held in Doha, the capital of Qatar, from May 29-31.
A special flight of Qatar Airways carrying the Prime Minister and her entourage members is scheduled to take off from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport for Doha at 8.45 am on Tuesday.
The Prime Minister and her entourage members are expected to reach Doha International Airport at 11.40 am (local time) the same day where Bangladesh Ambassador to Doha Md Shahdat Hossain will receive the Prime Minister.
From the airport, the Prime Minister will drive straight to the Ritz Carlton Hotel where she will be staying during her visit.
Sheikh Hasina will lead a 38-member Bangladesh delegation comprising Foreign Minister Dr Dipu Moni and Ambassador at-Large M Ziauddin. She will deliver a keynote speech at the forum on Tuesday evening and attend a gala dinner at Wosail Ball Room, Lobby Floor of the Ritz Carlton Hotel.
The Prime Minister is expected to return home on the afternoon of May 30 by a VVIP flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines.
The US-Islamic World Forum is designed to bring together leaders in the realms of politics, business, media, academia, and civil society from across the Islamic world and the United States.
The forum seeks to serve as both a convening body and catalyst for positive action.
The emphasis for this year’s forum is on the challenge of change, and it will feature plenaries on social, political, and strategic transformations in the Muslim world.
Policymakers and officials, thought leaders and activists, and entrepreneurs and journalists will meet in various sessions to facilitate productive dialogue on the problems in US relations with the Islamic world.
