Dhaka, May 28 (UNB) - Dhaka Mohammedan SC and Gulshan Youth Club, the two unbeaten teams in the ongoing 4th Women’s Club Cricket League, will lock horn in the final tomorrow (Tuesday) at BKSP ground in Savar.
In the day’s semifinals, Dhaka Mohammedan SC overcame Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club beating them by two wickets at BKSP ground-2 while Gulshan Youth Club eliminated Azad Sporting Club by seven wickets, also at BKSP ground in Savar.
Sheikh Jamal DC batted first after winning the toss against Mohammedan SC and were all out for a moderate 137 runs in 37.4 overs with one down Sandamaly contributing 51 runs off 89 balls, featuring three boundaries.
Ayesha Akhter (20), Montaha Khatun (20) and Panna Ghosh were the other main contributors for Sheikh Jamal.
Shuktara grabbed three Sheikh Jamal wickets for 22 runs while Rumana Ahmed bagged two wickets for 28 runs.
In reply, Dhaka Mohammedan SC reached their target making 140 runs for 8 in 38.2 overs.
Captain Salma scored 33-ball 30 runs with three boundaries to be adjudged player of the match.
Besides, Eti Mondal (24), Tahin Tahera (19) and Rumana Ahmed (16) were the other notable contributors for Mohammedans.
Mahmuda, Jahan Ara, Chamely, Sandamaly, Sripali and Sharifa took one wicket apiece.
In the day’s other semis, Azad SC batted first after winning the toss and were dismissed for 63 runs in 33.1 overs with Shamima Sultana making not out 20 and Champa Chakma 15 runs.
Suborna claimed three wickets for 11 runs while Yamin Rupa took two wickets for 15 runs.
Chasing a small target, Gulshan Youth Club easily knocked 67 runs for 3 in just 22.4 overs.
Skipper Lata hammered 50-ball 30 runs hitting four fours and was adjudged player of the match while Sanjida scored 19 runs.
Sadekun Nahar took two wickets for 9 runs.
