4 killed in separate incidents in city`s Abdullahpur, Gazipur dist

Dhaka, May 28 (UNB) – Two youths were crushed under a train in capital`s Abdullahpur on Monday while two other people were killed in a road crash in neighbouring Gazipur district on Sunday.

Witnesses said Mannan, 22, and Hanif, 23, were crossing the city`s Abdullahpur level-crossing with headphones in their ear connected with cell phones at 7-30 am on Monday.

A Dewanganj-bound train from Kamalapur Rail Station ran over the duo leaving them dead on the spot.

Being informed GRP (government railway police) rushed to the spot and recovered the badly bruised bodies and took those to Kamalapur GRP thana.

Later the bodies were sent to hospital for autopsy.

In Gazipur: A capital-bound bus from north Bengal collided head on with a pick-up van at Baraibari village on Kaliakoir-Nabinagar road in Kaliakoir upazila instantly killing two people at 4 pm on Sunday.

The dead are: Pick-up van passenger Rajesh Kumar Shil, 50, and its driver Wasim, 45.

Police detained both the bus and the badly battered pick-up.
