Bagerhat, May 28 (UNB) – A man chopped to death his elder sister at Uttar Tafalbari village in Sharankhola upazila on Monday.

The dead is Farida Begum, 50, wife of Rustam Ali of Tafalbari village and daughter of Ismail Hawlader of neighbouring Uttar Tafalbari.

Villagers said Ruhul Amin Hawladar has been behaving abnormally with his neighbours for the last two weeks.

They suspected that he has become insane.

Being informed Farida came to her father`s house to see her brother Ruhul today.

Ruhul was behaving badly with a next door neighbour in the afternoon and Farida attempted to pacify him, which angered him.

At one stage Ruhul picked up a sharp weapon and chopped Farida indiscriminately leaving her dead on the spot.

Ruhul was arrested.
