Govt to sell out Magura, Rangamati textile mills

Dhaka, May 28 (UNB) – The government has decided to sell out state-owned Magura Textile Mills Ltd at Tk 28.5 crore and Rangamati Textile Mills at Tk 28.1 crore respectively.

The decision was taken at the 53rd meeting of the Privatisation Commission held at its seminar room on Monday, said an official release.

Issues relating to marking the additional land of the state-owned industries and leasing those out to local and foreign entrepreneurs also came up at the meeting for discussion.

Presided over by Privatisation Commission chairman Dr Mirza Abdul Jalil, the meeting was attended, among others, by its members  Asaduzzaman Khan MP, Shafiqur Rahman, MP, Mahbub Ara Guinea, MP, Senior Secretary to the Ministry of Textiles and Jute Md Ashraful Maqbul.
