News - Punjab govt to launch technical education plan

Times of India Online

Punjab government would soon launch a comprehensive plan for providing technical education to youths, Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal said.

Presiding over a meeting of the heads of technical institutes here, Badal said his government is committed for the expansion and promotion of technical education in Punjab.

Though job opportunities in government sector are limited, there is a vast potential in the industrial sector, he said.

The chief minister noted that youths from Punjab were unable to reap benefit of these opportunities as they lacked the desired skills.

Self-employment and opportunities in industrial sector can be possible if the youths are imparted training, Badal said.
