Dhaka, May 29 (UNB) - Old Bandura Nabin Setu Sangha emerged champions in the Igloo Metropolis 2nd Division Men’s Handball League beating Flame Boys Club by 45-43 goals in the last league match at the Shaheed (Capt) M Mansoor Ali National Handball Stadium here on Tuesday.
The winners were trailing by 19-20 goals in the first half.
Rubel scored 15, Leon 10 goals for the winners while Jashim Uddin netted 20 and Samiul Arefin scored eight goals for the losers.
Rubel of the champions Old Bandura Nabin Setu Sangha was adjudged the best player of the league.
Deputy Managing Director of the league sponsor Igloo Ice Cream ASM Mainuddin Momen was the chief guest at the closing function and ldistributed the prizes.
President of Abahani Fans Club Mir Nizamuddin Ahmed was the special guest at the function, presided by Bangladesh Handball Federation AKM Nurul Fazal Bulbul.
Earlier, Star Sports finished runners-up beating Quantum Foundation by 27-21 goals after dominating the first half by 14-10 goals.
