Dhaka, May 29 (UNB) - The vital match of the Grameenphone Bangladesh Premier League between title aspirant Muktijoddha Sangsad KC and giant killer Dhaka Mohammedan SC ended in a 2-2 draw at the Bangabandhu National Stadium here on Tuesday.

Nasiruddin Chowdury and Brazilian striker Lima scored for the freedom fighters team Muktijoddha in the first half while Nigerian forward Nduka Uwa and midfielder Udeh Chigozie scored for the traditional black and white team Mohammedan, one in each half.

After the day’s match, Muktijoddha SKC remained at the 2nd slot in the league table after Abahni Limited (33 points) securing 31 points from 15 matches while Mohammedan SC advanced to the 4th place with 21 points from 14 matches.

Nasiruddin Chowdhury put Muktijoddha SKC ahead in the 30th minute by a placing shot after dodging past Mohammedan goalie Titumir off a Shakil cross (1-0).

Nigerian forward Nduka Uwa scored the equaliser for Mohammedan SC in the 41st minute by a cool shot after beating onrushing Muktijoddha custodian Mostak, utilising a pass from Wahed (1-1).

Brazilian forward Lima again put Muktijoddha SKC ahead in the 45th minute by a superb free kick from about 20 yards (2-1).

After conceding the 2nd goal, Mohammedan SC created strong pressure over Muktijoddha territory and took its fruits in the 76th minute neutralising the margin from a penalty goal.

Defender Yasin was fouled by Muktijoddha midfielder Shakil in the danger zone and Nigerian midfielder Udeh Chigozie did no mistake to convert a spot kick (2-2).

Nduka Uwa of Mohammedan came close to scoring again in the 87th minute following a lapse of Muktijoddha defence, but his placing shot between Brazilian defender Rafael and goalie Mostak went outside by a few inches.

In the dying moment, Mamunul Islam of Muktijoddha sent a cross from the left wing but Nasiruddin Chwodhury placed the ball wide from close.
