Indo-Bangla Trade Fair: Arunachal Pradesh CM in city
Meghalaya CM, others scheduled to arrive tomorrow

Dhaka, May 30 (UNB) - Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Nabam Tuki is already in the city while Meghalaya CM Mukul Sangma expected to reach on Thursday morning to attend the Indo-Bangla Trade Fair 2012 and ‘North East India- Bangladesh Business Conclave’, officials said.
The three-day event will begin at Sonargaon Hotel on Thursday.
An official at the India-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce & Industry (IBCCI) told UNB that Arunachal Industries and Textiles Minister Tapang Taloh, parliamentary secretary for trade and commerce Phosum Khimhun and deputy director, trade and commerce Sonyung Modi are also expected to join the inaugural session of the fair and conclave.
Tuki's tour is aimed at exploring ways of trade and investment opportunities between northeast India and Bangladesh.
The IBCCI with support from the Indian High Commission in Dhaka and active cooperation of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC), Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO), Bengal Chamber of Commerce, BNCCI and Merchants Chamber, Kolkata are organising the event.
“This is for the third time that IBCCI is organising such an exposition providing the entrepreneurs and business houses of both India and Bangladesh with a unique opportunity of showcasing their goods and services under one roof,” Abdul Matlub Ahmad said in a message.
He said a good number of participants from both the countries are expected to join the event.
Matlub, now in India, will attend a press conference at Sonargaon Hotel at 5pm to brief media about tomorrow’s event, said Farhad Kamal of Triune Exhibition and Event Management Services (TEEMS), the event coordinator.
Finance Minister AMA Muhith is scheduled to attend the inaugural session of the three-day fair as the chief guest. Industries Minister Dilip Barua and High Commissioner of India Pankaj Saran will also address the inaugural session.
Bangladesh-North East India Business Conclave will be held in the afternoon where Foreign Minister Dr Dipu Moni will be the chief guest.
More than 35 Bangladeshi and Indian companies in eight pavilions and 33 stalls will showcase various products and services. There will also be one-to-one meetings, which will boost networking among the business persons of both the countries.
