News - MLM companies plunderers: ACC Chairman
Dhaka, May 30 (UNB) – Chairman of the Anti-Corruption (ACC) Golam Rahman on Wednesday came down heavily on the multi-level marketing (MLM) companies, saying that they are plunderers.

Addressing a press briefing at the ACC office in the afternoon, the ACC boss said some shrewd people in Destiny 2000 are engaged in looting and amassing wealth by deceiving the common people.

“Plundering in the name of MLM is taking place across the country. We need to rein in such activities,” Golam Rahman said.

He went on: “We’re investigating the activities of Destiny 2000 on the basis of media reports. Those who are deceiving people in the name of giving excess profit should be punished.”

Referring to the Destiny 2000, the ACC chairman said effective steps will be taken based on the report to be submitted by its probe committee.

He, however, failed to say when the report will be submitted. “The commission will take time, which is required in the interest of a fair investigation,” he said, adding that investigation officials are now enjoying full freedom in their activities.
