Youth killed in Sylhet road crash

Sylhet, May 31 (UNB) - A youth was run over and killed by a truck at Rashidpur in Dakkhin Surma upazila on Wednesday.

The deceased was identified as Kawzur Rahman, 20, son of Shukur Ali of Bahsari village in Netrakona district.

Locals said Kawzur came to Sylhet city by a bus to visit his relative’s house at Kaliganj village in Biswanath upazila at noon. When Kawzur was waiting for a Biswanath bound bus at Rashidpur in Dakkhin Surma a speedy truck ran over him at about 2pm.

Critically injured Kawzur was rushed to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries around 7pm.

Police seized the truck but its driver managed to escape. A case was filed.
