Noakhali, May 31 (UNB) – At least four people were killed and four others injured in separate road accidents in Sonaimuri and Begumganj upazilas on Thursday.

In Sonaimuri, a Dhaka-bound microbus from Chatkhil hit a CNG-run auto-rickshaw near Nadnapool at about 10:30am, killing two, including the auto- rickshaw driver, and injuring five others.

The dead were identified as auto-rickshaw driver Sohel, 18, and its passenger Kiron, 40, of the upazila, police said.

Of the injured, Siraj, 45, died on way to Sonaimuri health complex. The other injured were taken to two local clinics.

On information, police rushed in and recovered the bodies and handed those over to their family members.

In another accident, a speeding truck crushed a youth under its wheels at Begumganj crossing around 9:30am.

Police and witnesses said the truck ran over Jahangir, 25, while he was distributing leaflets of an herbal company on the road.
