Khaleda distributes foods, clothes among poor in city
Dhaka, June 2 (UNB) - BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia on Saturday distributed foods and clothes among the destitute in different areas of the city on the occasion of the 31st death anniversary of party founder and ex-president Ziaur Rahman.
Gendaria thana unit of Swechchasebak Dal organised the programme in observance of the death anniversary.
BNP finance affairs secretary and Dhaka city unit BNP member secretary Abdus Salam, Swechchasebak Dal acting president Munir Hossain, and its acting general secretary Rezaur Rahman Ripon were, among others, present at the food distribution programme.
Swechchasebak Da Sahah Ali thana unit also distributed food items among the poor people marking the death anniversary of Ziaur Rahman, who was assassinated by an army cabal at Chittagong Circuit House on May 30, 198.
Opposition chief whip Zainul Abedin Farooque was present at the function as the chief guest.
