Chittagong, June 02 (UNB) – Six alleged killers of Kanchan Ghosh were arrested at Fisherighat on the bank of Karnaphuli River in Kotwali area early Saturday.

Acting on secret information, a team of Kotwali thana police conducted a drive at Fisherighat and arrested Md Mohiuddin, 22, Md Sona Mia, 20, Towhidul Islam, 20, Md Anwar Hossain, 26, Mohammad Hossain, 22, and Md Mizan.

Police said they confessed to the crime during introduction.

Kanchan Ghosh of Patharghata of Kotwali area was killed by the six accused over a cell phone set and the body was dumped in Karnaphuli River at the night of May 23.

Bakalia thana police recovered his floating body from Karnaphuli on May 26 and sent it to Chittagong Medical College Hospital for autopsy where the victim`s mother identified his body.

A case was filed and Kotwali police arrested the six today.
