Section 144 imposed in Comilla
Comilla, June 4 (UNB) – Local administration has imposed Section 144 at Shilpakala Academy in Homna upazila as Awami League and BNP called separate programmes at the venue at the same time for today (Monday).
The restriction will remain in force from 7 am to 7 pm.
Helal Hossain, UNO of Homna, said BNP convened a reception to local MP and BNP standing committee member MK Anwar, who was released from jail recently, at the Shilpakala Academy today.
On the other hand, Awami League also called a workers’ rally at the same venue and same time.
Apprehending possible clash, the local administration imposed the ban to avoid any untoward incident.
