Dhaka, June 5 (UNB) – Industries Minister Dilip Barua on Tuesday trashed a media report against him and said he would lodge a complaint with the Press Council of Bangladesh against the newspaper.
“The report is false…it’s yellow journalism, this is very harmful. I’ll lodge a complaint with the Press Council of Bangladesh if they don’t publish my reply (rejoinder),” he told reporters after a function at Sonargaon Hotel.
Bangladesh Protidin in its Tuesday’s issue carried a report titled ‘Minister Dilip Barua’s six plots’.
Replying to a question, Barua said the same newspaper published reports at least 10 times to tarnish his image, but it never published his (Minister) rejoinders. “The mystery is that the owner of the newspaper wanted to get Magura Paper Mill. I didn’t agree…that’s why they’re tarnishing my image.”
Barua said he owns a plot but her spouse does not have any.
