Mohammedan SC maintains winning run in Club Cup Hockey

Dhaka, June 06 (UNB) - Dhaka Mohammedan SC maintained their winning run in the Walton Club Cup Hockey Tournament outplaying Dhaka Mariner Youngs Club by 5-0 goals at the Maulana Bhashani Hockey Stadium on Wednesday.

They dominated the first half by 2-0 goals.

Penalty corner specialist national player Mamunur Rahman Chayan struck twice from his favorite penalty corner in the 42nd and 53rd minutes, Golam Mustafa Manik, Russell and Sheikh Mohammad Nannu scored one field goal each for the winners in the 8th, 16th and 59th minutes respectively.

In the day’s other match, Azad SC overcame Police AC by 3-2 goals at the same venue in the afternoon.

Salahuddin Ahmed scored two quick field goals in the 66th and 67th minutes while Roman Ahmed netted the other field goal in the 27th minute.

Anisuzzaman scored for Police in the 37th minute from a penalty stroke while Shiblul Hasan netted other goal for Police in the 56th minute.
