Samsung’s new Galaxy S III smartphone will go on sale in the US later this month, although if Apple has anything to do with it this won’t be the case as they have requested a preliminary injunction against Samsung’s new flagship Android device.

Apple has apparently added the new Samsung Galaxy S III to its lawsuit in which it is attempting to gain an injunction against the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, and Apple says that the Galaxy S III infringes on two patents related to the Galaxy Nexus case.

If Apple are successful them Samsung could end up being in a similar position to HTC, who has the launch of their handsets delayed due to a legal dispute with Apple.

Although whether or not Apple will be able to get the court to grant an injunction within the next couple of weeks, before the launch of the Galaxy S III remains to be seen.
