Muggers loot Tk 6.5 lakh from company official in Sylhet

Sylhet, June 9 (UNB) - Muggers took away Tk 6.5 lakh from a manager of a private company in Mendibag area of the city on Thursday night.

Police said Shyamol Babu, manager of Afroz Pipe Industries, was returning to his residence in the city from his Mendibag office by a motorbike along with the money.

Two muggers riding on a motorcycle intercepted his motorbike in front of nearby Sunhill School at about 8pm and snatched the money at gunpoint.

A case was filed with Shahparan thana in this connection.
