Dhaka, June 10 (UNB) - Saudi Prince Alwaleed bin Talal Alsaud, the Middle East’s richest capitalist, has expressed his desire to invest in Bangladesh’s power and tourism sectors.

After a meeting with the Prince at Hotel Sonargaon this afternoon, Foreign Minister Dipu Moni told reporters that she discussed with him the possibility of investment in the power and development of the tourism sectors.

‘’The Prince has expressed his willingness and our discussion will continue,’’ Dipu said.

She said a small team from Bangladesh will visit Saudi Arabia within a couple of months to discuss specific projects with the officials of Prince Talal’s companies.

The Prince came here on a brief good will visit to Dhaka at the invitation of the Foreign Minister. He met the President and the Prime Minister.

Dipu said the Prince was awarded with ‘Moitree Padak’ (Friendship Medal) for his contribution towards deepening the friendship between Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia.

Prince Talal garners most of his net worth about $10.7 billion-from a 95 percent stake in his Saudi-listed investment vehicle, ¬Kingdom Holding Co., whose assets include shares in Apple, Citigroup and part of the Four Seasons Hotels.
