Teachers-employees call on Nahid

Dhaka, June 10 (UNB) – A delegation of 12 organizations of teachers and employees called on Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid at his office on Sunday.

During the meeting, the delegation placed their different professional demands, including allowance of 1990, house rent, medical allowance, festival allowance and six-month maternity leave.

The minister gave the delegation a patient hearing.

Nahid told the delegation that the government is working on how to solve the logical problems of teachers and employees despite financial constraints.

Principal Kazi Faruk Ahmed, chief coordinator and convenor of Bangladesh Teachers Employees Front, general secretary Prof. Asadul Haque, Mohammad Azizul Islam, president of Bangladesh Teachers’ Association, included in the delegation.
