
Benapole (Jessore), June 11 (UNB) - An upazila agriculture officer was killed and two people were injured as two motorcycles collided head-on at Debinagar in Bagharpara upazila of Jessore on Sunday afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Gourakanti Singh, 48, an agriculture officer of Bagharpara upazila and a resident of Barodal village in Ashashuni upazila of Satkhira district.
The injured are Jalal Uddin, also an upazila agriculture officer, and Mahfuz, other bike rider who hailed from Sadar upazila of Narail district.
Police and hospital sources said the motorbike of Gourakanti collided with the other bike coming from opposite direction at about 5:30 pm while he along with Jalal was returning from their office, leaving the three injured.
Badly injured Gourakanti and Mahfuz were whisked off to Jessore Medical College Hospital where the attending doctors declared the former dead.
