Khulna, June 12 (UNB) – Identified local miscreants chopped to death a woman, injuring her husband and son over land at Santarkhalkul village in Terokhada early Tuesday.

The deceased was identified as Nahar Begum, 45, wife of Abdul Mannan Sheikh, 45, of Barasat village.

Locals said Mannan had an enmity with his neighbours, reportedly local miscreants, over a piece of land.

In sequel to the enmity Mannan came under attack allegedly by his neighbours earlier and he was forced to leave his native Barasat village along with his family and settle at neighbouring Santarkhalkul.

On that fateful night a gang of identified terrorists stormed into Mannan`s residence and chopped Mannan, Nahar and their 10-year-old son Hasibur indiscriminately leaving them severely injured.

They were admitted to Khulna Medical College Hospital where duty doctor declared Nahar dead.
