Noakhali, June 12 (UNB) –Five people were killed and 10 others injured in a triangular collision of a bus, a truck and a CNG run autorickshaw on Begumganj-Laxmipur road at Kalikapur in Begumganj upazila on Tuesday.

The deceased were-Nargis, 28, Anwar Hossain, 26, Saleh, 21, Yasin Arafat Kathal, 25 and an unidentified youth, aged about 23. They all were autorickshaw passenger.

Police said a Laxmipur-bound bus of Adhunik Paribahan from Choumohoni rammed a CNG run auto-rickshaw coming from the opposite direction at about 12:30 pm when a truck also hit the autorickshaw, leaving three autorickshaw passengers dead on the spot and 12 others injured.

The injured were rushed to various hospitals and clinics.

Among the injured, Yasin Arafat Kathal died at Begumganj upazila health complex while the unidentified youth succumbed at Noakhali Medical College Hospital.

Police seized the bus but it its driver and the truck driver managed to flee.
