Sheikh Russell KC play goalless draw with Sheikh Jamal DC in BPL Football

Dhaka, June 12 (UNB) - Sheikh Russell KC played to a goalless draw with Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club in a match of the Grameenphone Bangladesh Premier League at the Bangabandhu National Stadium here today (Tuesday).

After the day’s match, Sheikh Russell KC remained at the 4th position in the league table securing 26 points while Sheikh Jamal DC remained at the 5th place with 25 points, both playing 18 matches. Abahani Ltd leads the league table with 40 points, followed by Muktijoddha SKC (37 points) and Team BJMC (27 points).

In the day’s match, a header of Sheikh Jamal DC’s Nigerian forward Kester Akon went wide, off an Enamul Haque Sharif pass in the 23rd minute.

Another header of Sheikh Jamal’s Nigerian booter Alamu Bukola Olalekan sailed over the crosspiece, off a chip of Abdul Baten Majumder Komol. Kester again came close to score in the 58th minute but his sliding effort off Arup Baidya low cross went in vain.

Sheikh Russell KC goalie Biplob saved his castle brilliantly in the 86th minute as he dived full to fist a Kester shot away.
