Budgetary allocation for garment workers demanded

Dhaka, June 13 (UNB) - National Garments Workers Unity Movement demanded adequate budgetary allocation to ensure housing and rationing facilities and healthcare services for the garment workers.

Leaders of the organisation made the demand addressing a human chain in front of the National Press Club on Wednesday.

They demanded categorical announcement in the budget
for providing housing and permanent rationing facilities and healthcare services for the 40 lakh workers.

They also called upon the garment owners to fulfill the demand of garment workers in Ashulia for raising their salaries.

SKOP leader Abdul Kader Howlader attended the human chain as the chief guest.

Vice president of Bangladesh Sangjukta Sramik Federation Harunur Rashid Bhuiyan, Lima Ferdous, Mohammad Rafiq, among others, addressed the occasion chaired by coordinator of the organization Alamgir Rony.
