2 killed in Sylhet road crash

Sylhet, June 13 (UNB) - Two people were killed in a head-on collision between two trucks on Dhaka-Sylhet highway at Niz Kurua in Balaganj upazila on Wednesday.

The deceased was identified as Golam Mantaka Azad, 50, son of late Golam Rabbani Azad of Chhatak in Sunamganj and an unidentified mini truck driver.

Highway police said the accident took place at about 5:30 am when a capital bound stone laden truck collided head-on with a Sylhet bound mini truck, leaving mini truck passenger dead on the spot and injuring the mini truck driver.

The truck driver died on way to hospital.
