News - Vested Property Return Bill '12 passed
Dhaka, June 14 (UNB) - Parliament on Thursday passed the Vested Property Return (Amendment) Bill, 2012, providing for extension of time to 300 days from 150 days to prepare and publish the district-wise lists of the vested properties through gazette notification.

Land Minister Rezaul Karim Hira moved the bill in the House seeking smooth return of the vested properties to their genuine owners.

The House passed the bill by voice vote after rejecting independent member Fazlul Azim’s amendment for extending the time to 360 days from proposed 300 days.

In the bill, the word `vested’ replaced the word ‘returnable’.
