GAVI meeting concludes in Washington

Dhaka, June 14 (UNB) – The two-day GAVI Board meeting ended in Washington DC on Thursday.

Health Minister Dr AFM Ruhal Haque, who is visiting US, attended the meeting as board member of GAVI Alliance, an alliance formed by WHO, UNICEF and World Bank and provides about 3 billion US dollar to support immunization programme in developing countries each year.

Besides Ruhul Haque health minister from two other countries joined the meeting.

Dagfin Haybraten, a Norwegian MP (parliament member) chaired the meeting attended, among others, by MPs and important personalities from France, UK, Italy, Australia, Canada, US and leaders of WB, UNICEF, WHO, USAID and Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, an OID handout said on Thursday.
