Housewife drowns in pond in Jessore

Benapole (Jessore), June 15 (UNB) –A housewife drowned in a pond at Darijafarpur village in Bagharpara upazila of Jessore on Thursday morning.

The deceased was identified as Aleya Khatun, 32, wife of Nowsher Uddin of the village.

Police said Aleya went to the nearby pond of their house for bathing in the early morning and at one stage she slipped deep into the pond and drowned as she did not know how to swim.

After a hectic search police with the help of local people recovered the body from the pond and sent it to Jessore Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
