
Thakurgaon, June 15 (UNB) – A Bangladeshi cattle trader was shot to death by Indian Border Security Force (BSF) at Beurjhari border in Baliadangi upazila on Thursday.
Local sources said BSF members of Chaklagarh camp in West Dianjpur district opened fire on Faruk, 30, son of Enamul Haque of Charuigadi village in the upazila when he was crossing pillar no 379/380 along with other cattle traders to buy Indian cattle, leaving him wounded at about 5 pm.
However, other cattle traders managed to return home.
Critically injured Faruk was admitted to Baliadangi hospital where he died at about 9:5 pm.
Lt. Col. Touhidul Islam, commander of BGB-20 Battalion confirmed the incident.
