Lightning kills one in Sunamganj

Sunamganj, June 15 (UNB) – A man was killed in lightning strike at a haor near to Bhatapara village of Darmapasha upazila on Friday.

The deceased was identified as Riaz Uddin, 40, son of late Abdul Hashim of the village.

Locals said a thunderbolt struck him while he was catching fish in a haor adjacent to the village at about 9am, leaving him dead on the spot.

Darmapasha thana OC Mohammad Ali Khan confirmed the incident.

A UD case was filed with thana.
