Housewife found dead in Tangail

Tangail, June 16 (UNB) – A housewife was found dead at a pineapple orchard at Jatarbaid village in Madhupur upazila on Friday.

The deceased was identified as Razia Begum, 35, wife of Maslimuddin of the village.

Police said Maslimuddin used to torture Razia since long for getting permission of his second marriage. On Thursday night Maslimuddin picked up a quarrel with her over the issue and at one stage beat her mercilessly, leaving her dead on the spot.

Later, he dumped the body at the pineapple orchard and went into hiding.

Being informed by locals, police recovered the body that bore several injury marks on Friday morning and sent it to hospital morgue for autopsy.

A case was filed.
