Premier Hockey League begins on Sunday with Abahani-Usha match
Dhaka, June 16 (UNB) –The Green Delta Insurance Metropolis Premier Division Hockey League begins here tomorrow (Sunday) with a high voltage match between holders Abahani Limited and Club Cup Champions Usha KC at the Maulana Bhashani National Hockey Stadium.
The titan battle will kick-off at 3:15 pm.
The old Dhaka outfit Usha KC clinched the just concluded Walton Club Cup Hockey crown beating popular Dhanmondi outfit Abahani Limited by 3-2 goals in a keenly contested final.
On the following day (Monday), Dhaka Mariner Youngs Club will play Wari Club at 2:30 pm while Mohammedan SC will meet Bangladesh Sporting Club at 4:30 pm.
Eleven teams –Abahani Limited, Mohammedan SC, Dhaka Mariner Youngs Club, Sonali Bank SRC,Ajax SC, Sadharan Bima KS, Azad SC, Police AC, Wari Club, Bangladesh SC and Usha KC- will participate in the league.
On completion of the first phase league on July 20, top five teams will play in the super league to decide the title crown.
