
Dhaka, June 17 (UNB) –With a sweet memory of Asia Cup Cricket on home soil, Bangladesh National Cricket team will start their campaign in the unofficial Tri-nation T20 Tournament taking on hosts Zimbabwe today (Sunday) at the Harare Sports Club ground.
But the Mushfiqur Rahim led-Bangladesh, tasted the saddest experience in Zimbabwe tour losing both the practice matches by three wickets and 19 runs respectively in Harare on Friday.
Wicket-keeper cum batsman Mushfiqur Rahim for the first time in his 10-month captaincy missed the services of world number one all rounder cum former national captain Shakib Al Hasan, who was voluntarily absent in the squad for the first time in his international debut six years ago.
It is also the first away assignment for the freshly appointed Bangladesh’s head coach Richard Pybus.
In the double-leg basis tri-nation T20 meet, Bangladesh will play South Africa on June 19, play again against hosts Zimbabwe on June 21 and South Africa on June 22, all at the Harare Sports Club ground.
The final match between top two teams will be held on June 24.
South African broadcaster SuperSport confirmed they would screen the seven-match event live, as part of their commitment to both Cricket South Africa (CSA) and Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC).
The rights have also been sold to Bangladesh Television (BTV) to telecast the match live. .
