
Dhaka, June 17 (UNB) – A parliamentary watchdog on Sunday urged the authorities concerned to take steps to immediately complete the renovation works on roads and thus help assuage the public sufferings.
The parliamentary standing committee on Communications Ministry at a meeting came up with the directive while discussing the progress of renovation works on Jessore-Khulna, Khulna-Satkhira, Paikgachha, Mongla and Kushtia-Bheramara roads.
The 29th meeting of the committee was held at Sangsad Bhaban with committee chairman Mostofa Faruk Mohammad in the chair.
The meeting finalised the Dhaka Transport Coordination Authority (Amendment) Bill, 2012 after scrutiny and decided to place it in Parliament.
Committee member Communications Minister Obaidul Qauder, Nazrul Islam Manzu and Omar Faruk Chowdhury attended the meeting.
