2 robbers killed in Faridpur mob attack

Faridpur, June 17 (UNB) - Two alleged robbers were killed and four others injured in a mob attack at Digholkanda village in Bhanga upazila early Sunday.
The deceased were identified as Ibrahim alias Raja and Uzzal Kazi.
Dadon Fakir, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Bhanga thana, said 10/12 robbers swooped on the house of Gias Khalashi, former chairman of Chandra union, at about 1:15am.
Hearing alarm raised by the inmates, villagers rushed in and managed to catch six bandits while other accomplices escaped.
Then the local people beat the dacoits leaving two of them dead on the spot.
Police later rescued the injured bandits, Jahid Sheikh, 23, Hasan, 19, Mosharraf, 46 and Rezaul, 28, and arrested them.
The injured robbers were admitted to Bhanga upazila health complex and Faridpur Medical College Hospital where they are now undergoing treatment under police custody.
