2 killed in Gazipur road crashes

Gazipur, June 17 (UNB) – Two people, including a motorcyclist, were killed in separate road crashes in sadar upazila on Sunday.

A north Bengal-bound truck (oil tanker) overturned over a passer-by after vehemently skidding as its driver lost control over the steering instantly killing the pedestrian at Naojore on Dhaka Bypass Road.

The dead is Taslima Aktar, 20, employee of a local ready-made garments (RMG) unit.

A bus dashed a motorcycle at Pubail College Gate on Tongi-Kaliganj road leaving bike rider Sourabh, 27, dead on the spot and co-rider Shaheen, 30, injured.

Shaheen was rushed to hospital in critical condition.

Police seized the bus but its driver managed to escape.
