Dhaka, Jun 18 (UNB) - United Airways on Monday started its Chittagong-Kolkata flight to carry passengers from the port city to the capital of India`s Paschim Banga (formerly West Bengal) state.
Chittagong City Corporation Mayor Alhaj Manjur Alam formally inaugurated the flight at Hazrat Shah Amanat International Airport in the afternoon.

The rate of one way special fare for Chittagong-Kolkata was fixed at Tk 7,345 and that of two-way (return ticket) Tk 14,430 (including all taxes).
In every week three flights will operate from Chittagong to Kolkata on Friday, Monday and Wednesday. Each flight will depart Hazrat Shah Amanat Airport in Patenga at 1230 hrs (BST).

United Airways, the first-ever limited company in aviation sector of Bangladesh, is now operating international routes from Dhaka to Jeddah, Dubai, Muscat, Kuala Lumpur, Kathmandu and Kolkata and also from Chittagong to Muscat, the capital of Oman.

The airliner has a fleet of 9 aircraft which are two Dash-8-100, two ATR-72, three MD-83 and two Airbus-310 planes.

Four Jetstream aircraft will join United Airways fleet by September this year to boost its operational capacity with the aim to open and expand services in less used airports.
