3 robbers held with looted money and arms in Jessore

Benapole (Jessore), June 23 (UNB) – Detective Branch (DB) of police arrested three robbers along with arms and looted money Tk 15 lakh from a house at Nazir Shangkarpur in Jessore town on Friday night.

The arrestees were identified as Shahabuddin, 30, son of Abdul Halim of Shangkarpur Jamaddarpara of Jessore town, Shawkat, 32, son of Harun-ur-Rashid of Raghunathpur village of Benapole and Mintu, 28, son of Alauddin of Mathurapur village in Monirampur upazila.

Kotwali thana OC Abdul Jalil said a gang of robbers looted Tk 15 lakh from a house in capital’s Uttara area on June 17.

A case was filed with Uttara Model thana in this connection.

Later, DB police of Dhaka arrested Roknuzzaman Shaon, son of Habibur Rahman of Ulasi village in Sharsha upazila of Jessore, from Uttara area.

Later, on the basis of his confession a team of DB police went to Jessore from Dhaka on Friday and with the help of Kotwali thana police raided the house of Abul Kalam of the area and arrested them at night.

They also recovered three foreign pistols, one magazine, 14 rounds of bullet and looted money Tk 15 lakh from their possession.

A case was filed.
