Dhaka, June 24 (UNB) - Bangladesh completed their AFC U-22 Qualifiers without any point after losing to Yemen by 1-5 goals in their last Group D match at the Dasharath Stadium in Kathmandu on Sunday.

After playing four group matches, Bangladesh failed to earn any point as they conceded 1-4 defeat against hosts Nepal, 1-2 defeat against stronger Uzbekistan and 0-3 loss against Jordan, apart from the day’s humiliating
1-5 defeat.

In the day’s match, midfielder Mohammed Al Sarori put Yemen ahead in the 14th minute by a powerful left footed shot that beat custodian Sobuj Das Roghu (1-0).

Bangladesh forward Sohel Rana, a player of Dhaka Mohammedan, wasted a good chance in the 21st minute sending the ball over crosspiece, off a Yamin Munna cross.

Yemen doubled the margin in the 29th minute when forward Yaser al Garb snatched a ball from Sohel Rana in the midfield, dribbled past the opponent defenders before he sent the ball home through left edge of the box (2-0).

Yemen defender Sadam Hossian scored the 3rd goal in the 33rd minute by a powerful grounder after receiving a long pass from the midfield (3-0).

In the injury time of the first half, Sohel Rana, a player of Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club, made a good attempt at the goal but Yemen goalie Esam al Hakimi punched the ball away for corner.

Yaser Al Garb scored his second goal, the 4th for Yemen, in the 71st minute by placing the ball in the net from a difficult angle after dodging past defender Raihan, Shawkat and substitute goalie Shahidul Alam Sohel (4-0)

Sohel Rana (Sheikh Jamal DC) scored the consolation goal for Bangladesh in the 74th minute by a good header when the ball from a corner kick by Emon Babu came his way after hitting the crosspiece (4-1)

Substitute midfielder Salem Al Omzae scored the 5th goal for Yemen in the 86th minute by tapping the ball home off a Yaser Al Garb pass (5-1).

Iranian referee Jahanbazi Yadollah showed red cards to Yaser Al Garb and Motazz Qaid for non-sporting gestures after the long whistle.
