News - 13th Textech Int’l Expo to begin on July 3
Dhaka, June 25 (UNB) – The 13th Textech International Expo 2012, an international exhibition of garments and textile of Bangladesh, will begin in the capital on July 3, aiming to attract more foreign investment in the country’s highly potential industries.
 
CEMS Global USA in association with CEMS Bangladesh will organise the four-day event at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre.
 
Commerce Minister Ghulam Muhammad Quader is expected to inaugurate the expo as the chief guest while vice president of Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) Faruque Hassan and first vice president of Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BKMEA) Al-Haj Habibur Rahman will be present.
 
Besides, the 6th Dhaka International Yarn and Fabric Show 2012 and 12th Dye+Chem Bangladesh 2012 International Expo, an exhibition on dyes and fine and specialty chemicals, will be held at the Bangabandhu International Conference Centre.
 
Speaking a press conference at the National Press Club in the city on Monday, president and group managing director of CEMS Bangladesh Meherun N Islam said the textile and apparel industry of South Asia has the key position in the export sector with Bangladesh leading in apparel exports in the region to a tune of US$ 18 billion to over 120 countries.
 
She said keeping in the mind the potential of this sector and to further boost the exports, CEMS Global has been organising series of exhibitions for the last 13 years in Bangladesh.
 
Organisers said nearly 450 exhibitors from 22 countries will participate in the exhibitions.

The exhibitions will be open for trade and business visitors only everyday from 10:30 am to 7:30 pm.
